ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE HOCKEY STICK SHAFT A hockey stick shaft is formed by a central wood core, a pair of fibre reinforcing layers reinforcing a pair of opposite sides of the core, a pair of intermediate wood layers one over each of the reinforcing layers in turn covered by a second pair of reinforcing layers positioned one over each of the intermediate layers and a pair of outer surface layers are laminated to each of the second reinforcing layers. Preferably the second reinforcing layers have a higher tensile strength than the first reinforcing layers.
