Abstract of the Disclosure A REINFORCED HOSE AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURE A flexible hose (2) having a braided spiral reinforcement layer with one wire braid member (3) which remains uncrimped during braiding and a second braid member (4) which is composed of a relatively flexible, high tenacity material which is crimped or deformed around the wire braid member at each contact point in the braided-spiral layer. The hose may be made using a flexible mandrel technique to produce a light weight hose having improved flexibility for use in high pressure applications such as in hydraulic steam components.
