There is disclosed a hollow reinforced metal golf club head (10) in the shape of a driver. The golf club head (10) is reinforced by at least one rib (38) and preferably three ribs, each of which extends along or between the internal surface of the striking face (12) and the internal surface of the top side (30) to reinforce both the striking face (12) and the top side (30). In addition, the top side (30) has a pattern of corrugated reinforcing protrusions (46), preferably in the shape of gear teeth, extending rearwardly from adjacent the striking face (12). The sole (18) has at least one ridge (48), and preferably three ridges, each of which extends along more than half the length of the sole (18) and terminates short of the striking face (12) and short of the back side (24).
L'invention décrit une tête creuse de club de golf en métal renforcé (10) correspondant à la forme d'un driver. La tête (10) du club de golf est renforcée par au moins une nervure (38) et, de préférence, par trois nervures s'étendant chacune le long de la surface intérieure de la face de frappe (12) et de la surface intérieure de la partie supérieure (30), ou entre lesdites surfaces, de façon à renforcer à la fois la face de frappe (12) et la partie supérieure (30). De plus, la partie supérieure (30) présente une configuration de saillies de renforcement ondulées (46), de préférence en forme de dents d'engrenage s'étendant vers l'arrière à partir de leur contiguïté avec la face de frappe (12). La semelle (18) possède au moins une nervure de renforcement (48) et, de préférence, trois nervures de renforcement s'étendant chacune sur une longueur supérieure à la moitié de la longueur de la semelle (18) et se terminant à proximité de la face de frappe (12), ainsi qu'à proximité de la partie arrière (24).
