ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fiberglass reinforced panel comprises a cured thermosetting resin with fibers of glass or other reinforcing material embedded therein. At least one predetermined portion of the panel has a greater concentration of reinforcing material than the remaining portions of the panel. In alternate embodiments, the predetermined portion of the panel comprises fiberglass cloth or other types of reinforcement and the panel can be opaque or translucent. The panel may also be substantially rectangular, wherein two opposing, parallel edge portions of the panel are reinforced with a greater concentration of fiberglass than the remaining portion of the panel. A method of making such a reinforced panel is also disclosed.
