Abstract of the Invention This invention relates to a disposable surgical gown with a reinforcement panel and method for making the same. The gown has a body having front and side sections with the side sections being adjacent to and on opposed sides of the front section. The body also has a neck opening and sleeve openings defined by the removal of material from the body of the gown. Separate sleeve sections are secured to the body of the gown adjacent the sleeve openings. A reinforcement panel is secured to the front section. The reinforcement panel is fabricated from the material removed from the body during formation of the sleeve and/or neck openings and the panel is secured to the front section of the gown for purposes of reinforcement. The body, sleeves and reinforcement panel are cut in a manner that minimizes material wastage and manufacturing time.
