A reinforcement binding machine, comprising a wire feed amount detection mechanism having magnets installed on the outer peripheral surface of the main gear with V-groove of a wire feed mechanism and a magnetic sensor mounted on a body. A control part controls the fed amount of a wire by the wire feed mechanism based on the set value of the reinforcement winding number set switch. As a result, the consumed amount of the wire can be saved by binding the reinforcement with less number of windings, and pipe materials with lower strengths than the reinforcement such as electric pipes and hot- water pipes can also be bound with the wire.
