ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A multipiece reinforcing ring for a color tele- vision picture tube shadow mask. A plurality of elongated pieces are rigidly connected at their end portions to form a rectangular back ring. The number of pieces and the locus of connection between the pieces is symmetrical relative to the four corners of the rectangle which is formed thereby. This construction minimizes thermal distortion.
