ABSTRACT A relay drive and monitor circuit for selectively energiz- ing relay coils in response to input control signals and providing digitally coded output signals indicative of the operation of the relay drive circuit. A pair of transistors are used in series in each relay coil current circuit and are separately turned on to establish a coil current circuit. The monitoring of the operation of the transistors is based on the comparing of a selected voltage for various transistor operating combination with each of a plurality of predetermined reference signal. Each reference signal is compared by a corresponding switching comparator with the selected voltage to produce a combined pattern of digital signal levels at the comparator outputs.
