A breaking system is able to meet emergency stopping distance requirements associated with a failed rear axle service control line (40) by modifying the service relay valve (26). The service relay valve incorporates a biased double check valve (100) so that an additional or secondary control line (50) from the foot control valve (20) communicates with the service port of the relay valve. If the primary circuit is operational, a biasing force imposed on the double check valve permits normal operation via the primary service line. On the other hand, if the primary service line is lost, the biasing force is overcome and communication between the secondary service line and the service port (68) of the relay valve is established.

Dans la présente invention un système de freinage est capable de répondre aux exigences de distance d'arrêt d'urgence associées à la défaillance d'une ligne de commande d'alimentation d'un essieu arrière au moyen de la modification de la valve-relais d'alimentation. Cette valve-relais d'alimentation comprend un clapet double à ressort qui permet à une ligne de commande additionnelle ou secondaire de la soupape de retenue de communiquer avec l'orifice d'alimentation de la valve-relais. Si le circuit primaire est opérationnel, une force de sollicitation exercée sur le clapet double permet un fonctionnement normal via la ligne d'alimentation principale. Par contre, si la ligne d'alimentation principale est perdue, la force de sollicitation est oubliée et la communication est établie entre la ligne d'alimentation secondaire et l'orifice d'alimentation de la valve-relais.
