ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Adjacent links of a chain are releasably locked together by a pin, which is inserted through the pivot joints of the chain. The pin has spaced apart shoulders which engage the outer surfaces of the outer links at the pivot joints when the pin is fully inserted in the links. The pin has a front end which is compressible to permit passage of the forward locking shoulder through the inner and outer links of the chain.
