RELEASABLE LOCKING WALL MOUNTING Abstract of the Disclosure A wall mounting bracket for a telephone or similar item has an upward and forward facing support web, a downward facing lower web, and two flanges, one extending upward from the top of the support web and the other extending downward from the rear edge of the lower web, the flanges in a common plane and providing attachment means for mounting the bracket on the wall or other surface. Two keyhole apertures are formed in the support web, spaced apart laterally, each having a circular portion and a slot, the slot below the circular portion. A spring strip extends across the rear surface of the support web and is attached thereto, with a lower edge of the strip approximately coincident with the conjunction of circular portions and slot of each aperture. The ends of the strip can deflect away from the web when a headed member is pushed through each circular portion of the apertures, the ends springing back when the headed members are moved down into the slots of the apertures, locking the headed members in position. Manual deflection of the strip ends releases the headed members for removal.
