A cellular terminal adapted to connect a telephone communication device to a cellular telephone network, which terminal includes a transmitter periodically sending a registration signal to the network and a receiver receiving acknowledgement signals sent by the cellular telephone network in response to the registration signals. A counter records the number of consecutive acknowledgement signals not timely received by the cellular terminal (incrementally increasing each time a signal is not timely received, and resetting to zero when a signal is received), with corrective action being initiated to reestablish proper connection between the cellular terminal and the cellular telephone network when the number recorded by the counter exceeds a selected threshold number. Continuous verified interaction of the cellular terminal and cellular telephone network is provided by (1) sending periodic registration messages from the cellular terminal to the cellular telepnone network, (2) sending acknowledgement signals from the network to the terminal in response to registration messages, (3) counting the number of consecutive acknowledgement signals not timely received by the cellular terminal, and (4) initiating correction of a failure of interaction of the cellular terminal and cellular telephone network when the counted number of consecutive acknowledgement signals not timely received reaches a selected threshold number. Corrective action may be initiated by signalling an error condition to a user of the fixed cellular terminal and/or by generating an instruction signal causing the fixed cellular terminal to reset.
Cette invention se rapporte à un terminal cellulaire conçu pour connecter un dispositif de communication téléphonique à un réseau de téléphonie cellulaire. Ce terminal comprend un émetteur envoyant périodiquement un signal d'enregistrement au réseau et un récepteur recevant des signaux d'accusé de réception envoyés par le réseau de téléphonie cellulaire en réponse aux signaux d'enregistrement. Un compteur enregistre le nombre des signaux d'accusé de réception consécutifs qui ne sont pas reçus à temps par le terminal cellulaire (augmentant en mode incrémentiel chaque fois qu'un signal n'est pas reçu à temps, et procédant à une remise à zéro, lorsqu'un signal est reçu), une action correctrice étant initialisée pour rétablir la bonne connexion entre le terminal cellulaire et le réseau de téléphonie cellulaire, lorsque le nombre de ces signaux enregistrés par le compteur dépasse un nombre seuil sélectionné. On procède à une interaction vérifiée continue du terminal cellulaire et du réseau de téléphonie cellulaire: (1) en envoyant des messages d'enregistrement périodiques du terminal cellulaire au réseau de téléphonie cellulaire, (2) en envoyant des signaux d'accusé de réception du réseau au terminal en réponse aux messages d'enregistrement, (3) en comptant le nombre des signaux d'accusé de réception consécutifs qui ne sont pas reçus à temps par le terminal cellulaire, et (4) en initialisant une correction d'échec d'interaction du terminal cellulaire et du réseau de téléphonie cellulaire, lorsque le nombre compté de ces signaux d'accusé de réception consécutifs non reçus à temps atteint un nombre seuil sélectionné. On peut initialiser une action correctrice en signalant une situation d'erreur à un utilisateur du terminal cellulaire fixe et/ou en produisant un signal d'instruction qui entraîne la remise à l'état initial du terminal cellulaire fixe.
