ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A remoistening adhesive composition based on high amylopectin, low amylore starch includes poly(vinyl methyl ether-maleic acid monoalkyl ester) in a preferred proportion of about 1.5-20% by weight of the composition, thereby providing improved quick tack and shorter bonding times. An adhesive sheet comprises a sheet of paper coated on one side thereof with the composition.
