TITLE REMOTE ACCESS FOR CENTRALLY LOCATED ANSWERING AND RECORDING EQUIPMENT ABSTRACT A telephone answering and recording system designed for installation in a centralized location remote from the customer's premises. A single line is employed in normal opera- tion between the customer's telephone equipment and the cen- trally located answering and recording equipment. Included is circuitry for counting incoming ringing signals before recording of incoming messages begins. Protection against false operation due to dial transients is also included. For remote access a separate telephone line is employed to provide this feature. A customer desiring to remotely access the present equipment will dial the remote access number. The equipment counts the ring and then answers.
