Basically, this is an invention that allows police drivers to remotely stop a runaway car. Since high speed pursuits cause many accidents and other dangerous situations, it is important to prevent them from happening. The basic idea is that in every car, an acceleration inhibitor module is installed, which when enabled, prevents the driver from using the gas pedal using different methods depending on the model of the car. In the police car, a computer system with an antenna can send signals to these modules on specific frequency ranges to engage the module. This way, the runaway car will be able to steer and brake, but not accelerate. In the end, the runaway car will safely stop and the dangerous situation is avoided. In this document, the different methods and procedures of stopping a runaway car will explained and similar systems will be compared and contrasted.
