ABSTRACT REMOTE CONTROL APPARATUS FOR A PROPERTY PROTECTION DEVICE Apparatus for automatic remote control of an anti- theft protection device of a property is provided, said apparatus comprising a portable transmitter actuated through an encoder which is programmed for controlling the continuous transmission of codified message signals timed one from the other at much longer intervals than the message length, and a receiver comprising a decoder for matching the signals sent by the transmitter and as a consequence controlling the disconnec- tion of the protection device when said message is received and to control connection of the device upon stopping of the reception of the programmed codified signals, the device thus operating automatically by respectively moving away from and approaching the property by a person carrying the transmitter. An apparatus is also provided for semiautomatic con- trol of said device, said apparatus comprising means for generating a control signal for controlling the state of said protection device, said generating means being programmable for generating a modified control signal; means for pro- gramming said generating means to generate said modified control signal; means for transmitting said control signals, said transmitting means being portable and having a range substantially limiting the distance said signal can be trans- mitted; means for receiving said control signals, said receiv- ing means being responsive only when said modified control signal has been received to control said protection device to said first state; and means for controlling said protection device between the first and second states in response to said received control signals, such that the controlling means con- trols said device to said second state in the absence of a valid control signal, so that the said transmitting means must be within said range of said receiving means and said pro- gramming means must be activated in order to program said generating means to generate said modified control signal before said generating means can control said protection device from said second state to said first state.
