Remote Control Traffic System Abstract of the Disclosure A remotely controllable traffic control system adapted for controlling traffic in two directions from opposite ends of a control area includes first and second portable sign structures adapted for placement at the ends of the control area. Each sign structure includes a transmitter/receiver device and a changeable sign having at least two traffic control positions including a stop position and a proceed position. A single operator control remotely positionable from the sign structures controls both the sign structures. Circuitry presents both signals from providing a simultaneous proceed indication. Upon loss of power for any reason at either sign, the affected sign will automatically revert to stop. The transmitter can be programmed for a large number of signals to eliminate the problem of spurious activation of either sign. A single operator controls both signs to reduce the possibility that the two signs will give conflicting signals (i.e., two proceed signals in a one-way control zone).
