REMOTE CONTROLLED TEST INTERFACE UNIT ABSTRACT A universal remotely controlled test interface unit is connected to an on-site computing system having one or more central processing units and associated peripheral equipment. The test interface unit is provided with a transceiver for communicating with a data processing unit at a remote loca- tion which supplies control signals and data signals adapt- able to operate the on-site computing system or any part thereof. The test interface unit further comprises input data control means, buffer storage means, format control means, control register means and logic gating means for assimilating said data signals under control of said control signals to provide information in said control register compatible with the equipment to be tested.
