A remote monitoring system offers both random tracking and scheduled contacts while the monitored person is away from home, and continuous signalling at home permitting the monitored person to be monitored even while asleep, by providing a remote monitoring system which includes a home monitoring unit (14) for receiving RF transmissions from a wrist device (1), but which can be self-installed by the wearer of the device. The home monitoring unit (14) transmits periodic status reports concerning the presence of an individual at the location of the monitoring unit, but the direct telephone connection may be replaced by an internet connection for all but urgent communications.
L'invention concerne un système de surveillance à distance permettant d'effectuer à la fois une recherche aléatoire et des contacts programmés lorsque la personne à surveiller ne se trouve pas à son domicile, ainsi qu'une signalisation en continu au domicile, qui permet de surveiller la personne surveillée même lorsque celle-ci dort. Le système de surveillance à distance comporte une unité (14) de surveillance à domicile servant à recevoir des transmissions HF provenant d'un dispositif (1) porté au poignet, mais qui peut être installé par l'utilisateur du dispositif. L'unité (14) de surveillance à domicile transmet des rapports d'état périodiques concernant la présence d'une personne à l'endroit où se trouve l'unité de surveillance, mais la connexion téléphonique directe peut être remplacée par une connexion Internet pour toutes communications, sauf communications urgentes.
