A method and system for receiving and transmitting listings for real estate to a preselected location for placement and/or dissemination to the purchasing public. The steps of the listing process include providing a computer for transmitting signals to and receiving signals from customer operated devices, wherein the computer receives customer listing information in the form of a customer identifier and real estate selection; comparing customer identifier with customer profile information stored on a computer readable medium associated with the computer; retrieving an existing customer profile or creating a new customer profile if no existing file is available; transmitting a signal representative of a visual display of real estate items; and transmitting customer listing data to an operation center for placement. The system includes an listing center for transmitting signals to and receiving signals from customer operated devices, wherein the listing center receives customer listing information in the form of a customer identifier and real estate selection; an operation center in data communication with the listing center for preparing the customer selected real estate selections; and a communications network for providing data communication between the listing center and one or more customer operated devices. 28
