A method and apparatus for determining whether a vehicle is configured with the correct versions of software that controls the various operational systems aboard the vehicle. The version numbers for software on board the vehicle are periodically determined by an on-board monitoring system. This information is later transmitted to a remote site, where the actual software version numbers are compared to the correct software versions. If there is a mismatch, personnel at the remote site are alerted to resolve the mismatch.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de déterminer si un véhicule est configuré selon les versions correctes du logiciel commandant les différents systèmes opérationnels montés à bord du véhicule. Les numéros de version du logiciel à bord du véhicule sont déterminés périodiquement par un système de surveillance embarqué. Ces informations sont ensuite transmises à un site à distance, où les numéros de version du logiciel sont effectivement comparés au numéros des versions correctes du logiciel. En cas de non concordance, le personnel au niveau du site à distance reçoit un avertissement leur indiquant de résoudre cette incohérence.
