462 CANADA REMOTELY CONTROLLED SERVO DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING FLUID FLOW ABSTRACT A control device, typically for carburetors, in which there is utilized a permanent magnet armature, a pair of coils surrounding the permanent magnet, and a microproces- sor responsive to certain parameter-sensed variables includ- ing pressure, temperature, throttle conditions, and oxygen content in order that these variously sensed parameters can be communicated to the microprocessor wherein there is transduced by algorithm either a digital signal or an analog signal. Either signal is then communicated in the form of a demand for current flow to the coil. The coils upon energi- zation mechanically displace the armature to effect mechanical transducing of the electrical signal to control an actuator rod with an orifice control at the end of the actuator rod. The armature effectively controls an orifice size which in turn determines fuel/air ratio for an internal combustion engine, in conjunction with a carburetor function. Fuel-air control creates operating conditions which in turn are re- sensed by the sensors, the sensors in turn repeating their operation so that there is a closed loop servo system either by digital or analog signals as aforedescribed.
