A remotely-controlled toy skateboard device (10, 80, 300) comprises a skateboard (12, 82, 302) with a deck (16, 86/88, 306) and front (18, 91, 308) and rear (20, 120, 310) truck assemblies pivotally connected to the deck. A toy figure (14, 84, 304) has a lower body portion (50, 228, 312) that is fixedly connected to the deck and an upper body portion (52, 224, 314) that is mounted for rotation on the lower body portion. A torso drive mechanism (30, 180, 348) is connected to the upper body portion of the toy figure to rotate the upper body portion on the lower body portion. A steering mechanism (28, 163, 362) is connected with one of the truck assemblies to tilt the deck with respect to the truck assemblies to thereby steer the skateboard. Feedback is provided via fingers (432, 434, 696, 698) and pads (418-426 and 684-692) for steering and torso rotation. One or more motors (32, 136, 508, 510) are also provided to propel the skateboard device. An on-board remote-control unit (160, 340/342) is configured to control movement of the toy figure, tilt between the deck and truck assemblies, and the speed and steering direction of the skateboard.

Le jouet, une planche à roulettes contrôlée à distance (10, 80, 300), est composé d'une planche à roulettes (12, 82, 302), d'un plancher (16, 86/88, 306) ainsi que des mécanismes de roulement avant (18, 91, 308) et arrière (20, 120, 310), lesquels sont raccordés au plancher au moyen d'un pivot. Le bas du corps (50, 228, 312) d'un planchiste jouet (14, 84, 304) est fixé en permanence au plancher et le buste (52, 224, 314) est joint au bas du corps au moyen d'un pivot. Un mécanisme de commande (30, 180, 348) connecté au buste du planchiste jouet fait pivoter ce dernier sur le bas du corps. Un mécanisme de direction (28, 163, 362), connecté à l'un des mécanismes de roulement, sert à incliner le plancher par rapport aux mécanismes de roulement pour ainsi diriger la planche à roulettes. La rétroaction qui provient des doigts (432, 434, 696, 698) et des manettes (418-426 et 684-692) permet de diriger la planche et de faire pivoter le buste du planchiste jouet. La propulsion de la planche à roulettes est assurée par un ou plusieurs moteurs (32, 136, 508, 510). Une télécommande embarquée (160, 340/342) est configurée pour contrôler les mouvements du planchiste jouet et l'inclinaison du plancher, ainsi que la vitesse et la direction de la planche à roulettes.
