A cargo shelf assembly for vehicles comprises a shelf and at least a pair of leg structures provided under the shelf such that the leg structures elevate the shelf above a support surface on which the shelf assembly is positioned. The leg structures can be displaceable between functional and storage positions thereof. In such a case, the leg structures can be completely detachable from the shelf or can be pivotally mounted to an underside of the shelf. The shelf can define at least one accessory receiving recess in an upper surface thereof. The shelf can also define handles at opposed ends thereof.
