A removable nosepiece (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700) for a chuck (10) includes a plastic and/or metal ring (110, 210, 310, 410, 510, 610, 710) which is removably mounted on a distal portion of either the main body (20) or a sleeve (50) of the chuck so that the ring is concentric with the central longitudinal axis of the chuck. The removable nosepiece may include a washer-shaped member (130, 230, 430, 630, 730) of rubber extending radially inwardly from the plastic and/or metal ring. If provided, the rubber washer resiliently engages and centers a tool inserted into the chuck through the central aperture of the washer.
