Retainer arrangements for removably attaching flexible tops (2) to sport utility, convertible, and other vehicles. The arrangements include a flange (4, 4', 5, 5', 30, 30', 30") which is attached to the flexible top and a U- shaped channel (6, 6', 13, 13', 40, 40', 40") which is formed on the vehicle body. The flange is received in the U-shaped channel and a mating protuberance (18, 18', 15, 15', 54) and recess (20, 20', 19, 19', 56) interengage to removably lock the flange in the channel.
