A removable support assembly for a trailer, allowing the trailer to be adapted to the transport of different merchandise. The support assembly includes at least one support element removably connectable to the trailer by appropriate means. The support elements may be log bunks or bunk raisers for the transport of logs, or platform sections or a one-piece platform. Advantageously, in the case of wood transport, the log bunks or bunk raisers can be disposed at any desired distance from each other depending on the length of the logs to be carried. In addition, the use of removable support assemblies as described, allows the same trailer to be adapted to seasonal activities, such as carrying logs in winter and other products on platforms during warmer seasons.
