The present invention provides a method of separating benzene from a hydrocarbon mixture comprising providing a mixture comprising benzene and at least one other hydrocarbon, treating said mixture with at least one cyclodextrin in an amount and under conditions effective to form complexes of said cyclodextrin with at least a portion of said benzene, and separating said complexes from said mixture.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de séparer le benzène d'un mélange d'hydrocarbures, qui consiste à fournir un mélange comprenant du benzène et au moins un autre hydrocarbure, à traiter ce mélange avec au moins une cyclodextrine selon une quantité et des conditions efficaces pour former des complexes entre ladite cyclodextrine et au moins une partie dudit benzène, et à séparer du mélange les complexes ainsi obtenus.
