-31- REMOVAL OF HALIDES FROM CARBOLIC ACIDS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a method for removing from liquid carboxylic acid contaminated with halide impurity by con- tacting the liquid halide-contaminated aced with a silver(1) exchanged macroreticular resin. The halide reacts with the resin-bound sliver and is removed from the carboxylic acid stream. The present invention also relates to an improved method for pro- ducing silver-exchanged macroreticular resins suitable for use in the present invention.
