ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention provides for a method of improving the efficiency of the iron oxide process for the removal of sulphur compounds from hydro- carbon gases. The method is characterized by the admixture of up to about 750 ppm by volume of oxygen to the gas prior to its passage through a bed of hydrated ferric oxide.
