ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for heat fixing toner images electrostatically adhered to copy paper. The apparatus is characterized by the provision of a radiant energy source together with a reflector for focusing the radiant energy on toner images to thereby soften the images. A fusing window is interposed between the radiant source and the copy paper or support material having the toner images thereon. The window prevents the copy paper from con- tacting the heat source and the reflector. The window comprises an elongated web of radiant energy transmissive material a portion or segment of which is disposed in the path of the radiant energy until such time as it becomes overly contaminated from toner offset thereto, or dust, whereupon the contaminated segment is replaced by an uncontaminated segment of the web.
