A process for purifying a degraded oxime metal extractant organic phase from a metal extraction circuit wherein a degraded oxime metal extractant organic phase comprised of an oxime metal extractant, and aldehyde or ketone degradates in a water immiscible hydrocarbon solvent is reoximated thereby restoring the oxime extractant organic phase for further extraction in the metal extraction circuit. Optionally the degraded organic phase may be purified by distillation prior to reoximation. The distillation is carried out in a wiped film evaporator at temperatures above 180 ~C up to about 250 ~C at a pressure from about 0.5 mm Hg or lower up to about 10 mm Hg and the reoximation is carried out with hydroxylamine in the presence of a weak organic carboxylic acid as a phase transfer catalyst and in the presence of an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide or carbonate, preferably sodium carbonate.
Procédé de purification d'une phase organique dégradée d'un agent d'extraction de métal sous forme d'oxime, dans un circuit d'extraction de métal. Selon ledit procédé, une phase organique dégradée d'un agent d'extraction de métal sous forme d'oxime, composée d'un agent d'extraction de métal sous forme d'oxime et de produits de dégradation sous forme d'aldéhydes ou de cétone dans un solvant hydrocarbure non miscible dans l'eau, est réoximée par restauration de la phase organique de l'agent d'extraction sous forme d'oxime en vue d'une nouvelle extraction dans le circuit d'extraction de métal. Eventuellement, la phase organique dégradée peut être purifiée par distillation avant la réoximation. La distillation est effectuée dans un évaporateur à film balayé à des températures supérieures à 180 ·C et allant jusqu'à environ 250 ·C à une pression d'environ 0,5 mm Hg ou inférieure, jusqu'à environ 10 mm Hg, et la réoximation est effectuée avec de l'hydroxylamine en présence d'un acide carboxylique organique faible en tant que catalyseur de transfert de phase et en présence d'un hydroxyde ou carbonate de métal alcalin ou de métal alcalino-terreux, de préférence du carbonate de sodium.
