A process is provided for repairing the horizontal mount area of a JT9D turbine exhaust case (1) having two mounting flanges (2, 3) by inspecting the horizontal mount area, weld repairing any defects found in the case wall and installing a reinforcement brace onto the inside of the case wall in the horizontal mount area, wherein the reinforcement brace overlaps the area under the second mounting flange.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réparer la zone de montage horizontale d'un carter d'échappement (1) de turbine JT9D constitué de deux collerettes de montage (2, 3). Ledit procédé consiste à inspecter la zone de montage horizontale, à procéder au soudage de tout défaut détecté au niveau de la paroi du carter, et à installer une pièce de renfort sur l'intérieur de la paroi du carter dans la zone de montage horizontale. Ainsi, la pièce de renfort chevauche une zone située sous la seconde collerette de montage.
