- 18 - Abstract of the disclosure: REPELLENT FOR USE AGAINST IXODIDES A repellent for use against ixodides is disclosed which comprises as an active ingredient a compound of the formula: Image wherein R1 is H, C1-C5 alkyl or alkenyl, or phenyl; and A is a chemical bond, -CH2-, or -CH2O-, with the provisos that when R1 is hydrogen, C1-C5 alkyl or alkenyl, A is -CH2O-; and when R1 is phenyl, A is a chemical bond or -CH2-. Also disclosed is a repellent for use against ixodides comprising as an active ingredient at least one selected from the group consisting of linalool, limonene, essential oils composed mainly thereof, geranium oil, rosemary oil, laurel oil, caraway oil, cassia oil, calamus oil, fennel oil, and thyme oil.
