ABSTRACT An awning having a modular frame with frame pieces, having longitudinal recesses, junctions joining the frame pieces to form a composite awning frame, flexible plastic panels stretched over the composite frame and fastened in the longitudinal recesses, and, elongated flexible wedging strips shaped to be force- fitted into the recesses together with portions of the flexible panels thereby wedging the portions of the flexible panels and securing them.
