A base headboard for supporting the back of an injured person's head has an elongated slot with teeth racks disposed on either side of the injured person's head. The headboard also comprises straps for attaching to a spine board. Two side head blocks are removably attached to the headboard using plunger-type locks that engage an elongated slot on each side of a center portion of the headboard. Each lock is engaged to a slot of the headboard through a separate elongated slot in the corresponding head block. Advantageously, a head block may be adjusted by moving the engagement of the lock along each independent slot in the headboard and head block, respectively. In addition, a head block may be rotated around its lock. Head pads and straps, and pads and straps for cervical collars that come into contact with a patient may be replaceable and packaged in a kit, thereby allowing the durable components (such as head blocks and headboard) to be reused indefinitely and reducing cleaning costs and minimizing exposure to pathogens. Such a kit of replaceable parts may also reduce material waste compared having all disposable components without any durable components (i.e. head immobilizers).
L'invention concerne un grand dossier de base destiné à supporter la tête d'une personne blessée comprenant une encoche allongée à supports à dents disposé sur un côté de la tête de la personne blessée. Ledit dossier comprend également des brides permettant de le fixer à un brancard rigide. Deux blocs de tête latéraux sont fixés, de manière à pouvoir être détachés, au dossier, au moyen de fixations de type fiche, ces dernières s'enclenchant dans l'encoche allongée située sur chaque côté d'une partie centrale du dossier. Chaque fixation est en prise dans une encoche par l'intermédiaire d'une encoche séparée, située dans le bloc de tête correspondant. De manière avantageuse, un bloc de tête peut être réglé par déplacement de l'enclenchement de la fixation le long de l'encoche située dans le dossier et le bloc de tête. De plus, un bloc de tête peut effectuer une rotation autour de sa fixation. Des coussins pour la tête et des brides, ainsi que des coussins et des brides pour le collet cervical, entrent en contact avec le patient et peuvent être remplacés et emballés dans un kit, tout en permettant la réutilisation des composants durables (tels que le dossier et les blocs de tête) de manière indéfinie et la diminution de coûts de nettoyage et la diminution de l'exposition aux pathogènes. Ledit kit pour parties remplaçables peut également réduire les déchets de matériaux par rapport à des composants jetable sans composants durables (par exemple des immobilisateurs de tête).
