The present invention provides isolated influenza peptides and nucleic acid sequences and methods of identifying said influenza peptides and nucleic acid sequences having a pattern of substitution of amino acids or nucleic acids in highly conserved Replikin and Replikin Scaffold sequences that is predictive of rapid replication and virulence. Methods of predicting virulence in emerging influenza strains are provided comprising identifying peptides and nucleic acid sequences having the predictive pattern of substitution.
La présente invention concerne des peptides et des séquences nucléotidiques de la grippe isolés, ainsi que des méthodes permettant d'identifier lesdits peptides et séquences nucléotidiques de la grippe, qui présentent un motif de substitution d'acides aminés ou d'acides nucléiques, dans des séquences de Réplikins et de supports de Réplikins hautement conservés, qui permet de prédire une réplication rapide et une grande virulence. L'invention concerne également des méthodes permettant de prédire la virulence de souches émergentes de la grippe, qui consistent à identifier des peptides et des séquences nucléotidiques présentant ledit motif de substitution prédictif.
