A method, performed using one or more servers under the control of an ISP, comprises: (a) receiving an electronic transmission from a requesting server of an IP address and a time and date; (b) automatically determining to which subscriber of the ISP the received IP address was allocated at the received time and date; and (c) automatically transmitting an electronic communication that causes delivery to the requesting server of offline data originating from an offline data provider. The delivered offline data concern the subscriber determined to have been allocated the received IP address at the received time and date. The communication does not convey to the offline data provider the subscriber's history of online activity, and the delivery does not convey to the requesting server a personal identity of the subscriber.
La présente invention concerne un procédé réalisé en utilisant un serveur ou plus sous le contrôle d'un ISP, le procédé consistant à : (a) recevoir une transmission électronique en provenance d'un serveur de requête d'une adresse IP ainsi que d'une heure et d'un jour ; (b) déterminer automatiquement à quel abonné de l'ISP l'adresse IP reçue a été allouée à l'heure et au jour reçus ; et (c) transmettre automatiquement une communication électronique qui entraîne la délivrance, au serveur de requête, de données hors ligne émanant d'un fournisseur de données hors ligne. Les données hors ligne fournies concernent l'abonné déterminé comme étant celui à qui l'adresse IP reçue a été allouée à l'heure et au jour reçus. La communication ne transfère pas au fournisseur de données hors ligne l'historique de l'activité en ligne de l'abonné, et la délivrance des données ne transfère pas au serveur de requête une identité personnelle de l'abonné.
