ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to an indicating device for monitoring the level of fluids in reservoirs. The device includes a rod having a sensing end and, at its other end, a photo-detector which comprises a light source and a light receiver. The photo-detector is in contact with an electrical circuit arrangement adapted to trigger a warning means whenever the sensing end of the rod encounters a charge in reflectional behavior due to fluid level dropping below the sensing end of the rod. The invention is useful in non-mechanical high-speed printers for moni- toring the level of a cleaning and sealing agent for the rollers.
