Residential fire protection systems comprise only smoke detectors and manual extinguishers which can be useless in some situations (e.g., if the extinguisher is inaccessible because of the size of the fire or the fact that it was detected too late). This invention is an independent heat detector and automatic fire extinguisher for residential use. The device is installed on the ceiling, and its detection system consists of a series of liquid-filled ampules on all sides of the device; heat will cause the liquid in the ampules to expand and break the ampules once a certain temperature is reached; ampule breakage will cause the mechanical release of compressed air in order to spray dry chemical via one of the nozzles facing the fire in order to neutralize it before it spreads.
