A residue manager device includes a pivot arm coupled to a disc opener arm to extend generally forwardly therefrom so that a toothed wheel at the free end of the pivot arm is ahead of the path of the disc opener. Lifting of the pivot arm and toothed wheel is provided by a linkage including a pivot shaft pivotally supported on a fixed portion of the implement frame, a drive link coupled between an actuator of the disc openers and the pivot shaft to rotate the pivot shaft when the disc openers are raised or lowered and a driven link connected between the pivot shaft and the pivot arm for similarly raising or lowering the pivot arm with the disc opener arms.
