ABSTRACT Means for effecting a resilient connection between spaced apart first and second mounts comprises latching means connectable to the second mount, an engaging surface engageable with the first mount in such a manner that the first mount is disposed between the engaging surface and the latching means, and resilient means interconnecting the latching means and the engaging surface so that the engaging surface and the latching means are urged toward each other when the latching means is connected to the second mount and the engaging surface engages the first mount. The connector is parti- cularly suited for use in connecting a motor unit to the upper surface of the vacuum chamber in a central vacuum cleaning system, in which case a plurality of first mounts are provided on the motor unit, and a plurality of associated second mounts are provided on the upper surface of the vacuum chamber to which the motor unit is to be mounted.
