A resin-coated metal pigment that is capable of simultaneous attainment of high water resistance of water base paint and chemical resistance of coating film; and a water base paint making use of the resin-coated metal pigment. There is provided a process for producing a resin-coated metal pigment, comprising the adsorption step of bringing a solution or dispersion of phosphoric ester component (A) into contact with a metal pigment to thereby prepare a phosphoric ester adsorbing metal pigment; the slurry preparation step of preparing a polymerization slurry having polymerization component (B) dissolved therein; and the coating step of polymerizing the polymerization component (B) so as to form a resin coating layer on the surface of the phosphoric ester adsorbing metal pigment. Further, there is provided a resin- coated metal pigment produced by the process, and provided a water base paint making use of the resin-coated metal pigment.
L~invention concerne un pigment métallique enduit de résine permettant d~obtenir à la fois une peinture à base d~eau présentant une grande résistance à l~eau et un film de revêtement présentant une grande résistance aux produits chimiques ; ainsi qu~une peinture à base d~eau utilisant le pigment métallique enduit de résine. L~invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication d~un pigment métallique enduit de résine, ledit procédé comprenant une étape d~adsorption consistant à mettre en contact une solution ou une dispersion d~un composant d~ester phosphorique (A) avec un pigment métallique afin de préparer un pigment métallique adsorbant l~ester phosphorique ; une étape de préparation de la pâte consistant à préparer une pâte de polymérisation dans laquelle un composant de polymérisation (B) est dissous ; et une étape d~enduction consistant à polymériser le composant de polymérisation (B) afin de former une couche de revêtement en résine à la surface du pigment métallique ayant adsorbé l~ester phosphorique. L~invention concerne également un pigment métallique enduit de résine obtenu par ce procédé, ainsi qu'une peinture à base d'eau utilisant le pigment métallique enduit de résine.
