ABSTRACT A resin composition is provided comprising (a) a resin having repeating units of formula Image where R1 is a divalent or trivalent aryl, Ar is the residue of a phenol with 1-3 hydroxy groups and at least 2 nuclear carbon atom, and n is 0 or 1 and (b) an uncured or partially cured condensate of formaldehyde and melamine. The weight ratio of resin (a) to condensate (b) is 99:1 to 1:99. The composition can be cured to form products with good electrical properties and high heat resistance for use in coatings or moulded or laminated products.
