A polymer blend comprising polypropylene and polyethylene, wherein an article formed from the polymer blend has a tenacity of from greater than 6.5g/9000m. A method of preparing a polymer blend comprising blending a high crystallinity polypropylene and a high density polyethylene, wherein polyethylene is present in an amount of from 1 wt% to 30 wt% based on the total weight of the polymer blend, and extruding the polymer blend, wherein the extruded polymer blend has a tenacity greater than 6.5g/9000m. A method of preparing a polymer blend comprising preparing a polymer blend comprising a polypropylene homopolymer and a high density polyethylene, wherein the polypropylene homopolymer has a melting point of from 155°C to 170°C, and forming the polymer blend into a monofilament having a tenacity greater than 6.5g/9000m and a draw ratio of from 4:1 to 20: 1.
L'invention concerne un mélange de polymères comprenant du polypropylène et du polyéthylène, un article formé à partir du mélange de polymères présentant une ténacité supérieure ou égale à 6,5g/9000m. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'un mélange de polymères consistant à mélanger un polypropylène à haute cristallinité et un polyéthylène à haute densité, le polyéthylène étant présent dans une quantité comprise entre 1% en poids et 30 % en poids sur la base du poids total du mélange de polymères, et à extruder le mélange de polymères, le mélange de polymères extrudé présentant une ténacité supérieure à 6,5g/9000m. L'invention concerne en outre un procédé de préparation d'un mélange de polymères consistant à préparer un mélange de polymères comprenant un homopolymère de polypropylène et un polyéthylène à haute densité, l'homopolymère de polypropylène présentant un point de fusion compris entre 155°C et 170°C, et à former le mélange de polymères en un monofilament présentant une ténacité supérieure à 6,5g/9000m et un rapport d'étirage compris entre 4:1 et 20:1.
