ABSTRACT Disclosed is a thermoplastic composition, comprising in admixture irradiated or thermally degraded polytetrafluoroethylene particulates capable of forming hydrogen fluoride at an elevated temperature, a thermoplastic material other than the particulates, and an amount of an acid scavenger sufficient to substantially neutrualize hydrogen fluoride formed by the particulates during a preselected period of time at the elevated temperature. The elevated temperature is greater than the melting point of the thermoplastic material and less than the melting point of the polytetrafluoroethylene particulates. The thermoplastic material has a lower melting point than that of the particulates. 38,254-F
