ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A vitreous enamel resistance material comprising a mixture of of a glass Fritz an insulating material containing an oxide of zirconium, and a conductive phase of finely divided particles of tin oxide (SnO2), and an additive such as tantalum oxide (Ta2O5) if desired. The insulating material is selected from the group consisting of zirconia (ZrO2), calcium zirconate (CaZrO3), barium zirconate (BaZrO3), and strontium zirconate (SrZrO3). A method of making the vitreous enamel material is also disclosed.
