Stereoisomers of carbocyclic amine compounds such as amino tetralins are separated by subjecting a mixture of the stereoisomers to reaction with an acylating agent in the presence of the enzyme Pseudomonas capacia lipase which effect selective acylation of one of the stereoisomers to form a separable amide, whilst leaving the other stereoisomer substantially unchanged.

Selon l'invention, on sépare des stéréo-isomères de composés d'amine carboxylique, tels que des aminotétralines, en faisant réagir un mélange de stéréo-isomères avec un agent acylant en présence de Pseudomonas capacia lipase pour réaliser une acylation sélective de l'un des stéréo-isomères afin de former un amide séparable, tout en ne modifiant pratiquement pas les autres stéréo-isomères.
