The present invention relates to drilling apparatus comprising a drill-bit (1) capable of rotary and high frequency oscillatory loading; and control means for controlling applied rotational and/or oscillatory loading of the drill-bit, the control means having adjustment means for varying the applied rotational and/or oscillatory loading, said adjustment means being responsive to conditions of the material through which the drill is passing. The control means is in use provided on the apparatus in a downhole location and includes sensors for taking downhole measurements of material characteristics, whereby the apparatus is operable downhole under closed loop real-time control. The apparatus can determine appropriate loading parameters for the drill-bit in order to achieve and maintain resonance between the drill-bit and the drilled material in contact therewith.
La présente invention concerne un appareil de forage comportant un trépan (1) capable d'exercer un chargement rotatif et oscillatoire à haute fréquence ; et un moyen de commande destiné à commander le chargement rotatif et / ou oscillatoire appliqué par le trépan, le moyen de commande étant muni d'un moyen de réglage servant à faire varier le chargement rotatif et / ou oscillatoire appliqué, ledit moyen de réglage réagissant à des états du matériau traversé par le trépan. Le moyen de commande est installé, pendant l'utilisation, sur l'appareil à un emplacement de fond de trou et comprend des capteurs destinés à effectuer des mesures en fond de trou des caractéristiques du matériau, l'appareil pouvant ainsi fonctionner en fond de trou sous contrôle en boucle fermée et en temps réel. L'appareil peut déterminer des paramètres de chargement appropriés du trépan afin d'établir et de maintenir une résonance entre le trépan et le matériau foré en contact avec celui-ci.
