ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Sound attenuating resonators or mufflers for dealing with various noise frequencies may occupy a large volume in a vehicle engine compartment. A simple, compact resonator for performing the same function includes a generally cylindrical, resilient, tubular, plastic body with closed ends, an inlet in one end for connecting the device to an engine air inlet tube, and a bellows-type side wall integral with the end walls for expanding and contracting to change the volume of the resonator with changing engine speeds.
